Tickets for the ball are $35 a person or $60 for a couple. Because of the formal nature, they ask no children under 12 attend. The Parrot Morey Grand Ball is one of the only Grand Balls held in the region this season. The Ball is being held in honor of Jacob Parrot and Delano Morey both Congressional Medial of Honor recipients who once called Kenton home. It will be held in the National Guard Armory located at 128 North Street. Sue Pfeiffer will be serving as the dance mistress and will be calling the dances. There will be a dance workshop the morning of the ball and is included in the price of a ticket. The workshop will be held at the Armory from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is meant for dancers both experienced and new to practice. Attendees will enjoy live music provided by the 73rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regimental Band. The bank portrays a regimental band from the era with members who play on instruments from the mid 19th century. The music they perform is researched and documented to help provide an authentic listening experience to the audience. Period or dress attire required. Dancers please wear white gloves. Refreshments will be served between sets. An Amish quilt will be raffled off. Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.
